With more in common than the family relationship.

Both developed their skills as writers when working as teachers who made a habit of writing material for specific needs from the Christmas Play to an exercise to teach grammar. This has ensured their work is always fresh, lively and authoritative.

Ann taught Literacy, Communication Skills and Language Development in inner London, an experience she feels has honed her communication skills so that, provided she can understand it herself, she believes she can explain most things to most audiences. In 1992 she put her writing experiences to use in editing a local community magazine in Hay-on-Wye, and has since 1995 written columns regularly for the Brecon & Radnor Express. She has written on rural issues, computing, and the arts. She has also contributed to The Hereford Times, The Chronicle, The Western Mail, Quartos Magazine, Country Quest and Business Today.

Her newest ventures are in collaboration with local writer Betty Maura-Cooper to start a new group for local writers, Beacon Writers, based in the area around Hay-on-Wye, and to organise a series of Writers Courses, Mayflower Courses, based in the town.

Paul spends much of his time living and working in Norfolk having developed a love for East Anglia whilst studying English and Education at Cambridge University. He has a broad background of experiences on which to draw in his writing, ranging from specialist sports including fencing, modern pentathlon and aikido, through to adventurous activities such as yachting, scuba diving and hiking.
His published works include articles on outdoor survival, military history, archery and fencing, but he also writes on film and media issues, motoring, lifestyle and food and drink. He has written for The Sword, The Western Mail, The Brecon and Radnor Express, and the Lynn News, but is always looking to expand his market.
As writers they are ready and able to tackle most subject areas, and welcome the challenge of research for new material.
