Hay is quite a small town. It's possible to walk around the circumference of the town in about 20 minutes. Once you are here, there is no need for public transport to help you get around!
The main Car Park is located close to the Craft Centre and Tourist Bureau, opposite the rear of Hay Castle. Please bring change with you for the pay and display machine! Note: the parking of Motorhomes overnight is also allowed.
There are 2 cash points in the town, served at Barclays Bank (near the town clock) and the Post Office.
Half-Day Closing: A few shops in Hay are CLOSED at mid-day on Tuesdays (mostly Grocery Shops and the Post Office).
Market Day in Hay is Thursday. Please click HERE for more information about Market Day.
Public Internet Access is available at several restaurants, via a Wifi connection, and also Hay Library.
Public Toilets: Located at the Craft Centre, next to the main car park, and also next to the Town Clock. Our public toilets were under threat of closure by Powys County Council, but to ensure they remain open, Hay Town Council have agreed to take over the maintenance and management of the toilets. To help sustain this, it now costs 20p to use the toilets. Please make sure you have 20p coins with you!
Laundrette: There is a public laundrette located in Bell Bank, open 8am to 8pm.
